1.3 Travel Policy
YGA may provide assistance to athletes travelling to Westerns Competition and any national competitions. These competitions will be determined before Feb 28. All clubs must submit a list of eligible athletes to YGA prior to Jan 30. It is the responsibility of the YGA Board and the coach(es) to determine which athletes will be travelling to which competitions.
YGA will cover up to 75% of the athletes travel to Westerns or Nationals. YGA will also cover the travel costs, the per diem, the accommodations for a coach and one vehicle. Any variances to this must be approved by the YGA Board.
In coordination with the attending coach, a chaperone, if required, will be appointed by the YGA Board at least one month prior to the competition to be attended. It is the responsibility of the athlete(s) to pay for the airfare and accommodations of the chaperone.
All gymnasts will be respectful and remember that when travelling they are representing the Yukon as a whole and will conduct themselves according to the Athlete Code of Conduct Policy.
Once an athlete has been recognized as a representative on Team Yukon, each athlete will be expected to read the Travel Package to be presented to each athlete and sign a copy of the Athlete Code of Conduct and must sign the Athlete Commitment Form at the time of approval, Feb 28.
